National Apprenticeship Program

AMIS (Apprenticeship Management Information System) is the official digital platform for Uganda's Apprenticeship program, managed by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. It supports candidate registration, host institution onboarding, placement management, and programme reporting.

Unemployed and underemployed youth aged 18–35 years may register for the Apprenticeship or Graduate Volunteer pathways. Host institutions in the public and private sectors may also register to offer supervised workplace placements.

Apprenticeship is a structured skills pathway combining on-the-job and off-the-job learning, coaching, and End Point Assessment (EPA) leading to certification in priority occupations.

Graduate Volunteer Scheme (GVS) is for graduates seeking supervised work experience, work-readiness training, mentorship, and a pathway into employment in host institutions.

Click Join as Apprentice or Join as Graduate Volunteer on the homepage, complete the registration form with accurate personal and qualification details, and submit your profile. You can return later to complete or update your profile after logging in.

Select Register Host Institution on the homepage and provide your organisation's details. Once submitted, your registration is reviewed by programme administrators. Approved institutions can create and manage apprenticeship or volunteer placement opportunities.

No. Registration on AMIS for candidates and host institutions is free of charge. Be cautious of anyone requesting payment to register or guarantee placement on the programme.

After registration, complete your profile with education, qualifications, and preferred occupation details. Programme staff and host institutions use AMIS to review profiles, publish opportunities, and match eligible participants to available placements.

You should choose the pathway that best matches your qualifications and career goals. Apprenticeship is suited to structured occupational training, while Graduate Volunteer is designed for graduates seeking professional placements. Register for the pathway most relevant to your situation.

Use the Login link on the homepage with the email address and password you provided during registration. The same login page is used for candidates, host institutions, and programme staff.

Registration periods may be set separately for Apprenticeship and Graduate Volunteer pathways. If a deadline has passed, the registration button on the homepage will indicate that registration is closed for that pathway. Check the homepage for current availability.

Scroll to the Submit Your Complaint section on the homepage or use the complaints link in the footer. Complete the form with your contact details, category, and a clear description of the issue. You will receive a reference ticket number after submission.
